to be made to make our special day
even more spectacular! If you're
looking for an officiant who exudes
warmth, joy, and an overall
celebration of love, then look no
further. Rev. Rebecca will do an
EXCEPTIONAL job for you and your

could not have been happier with
the way everything turned out this
past weekend. ~ Bernie & Molly
Dear Rebecca ~ Thank you so much
for being there to guide us through
our wedding day and for helping us
create ceremony that felt special,
meaningful and unique to us. We
really appreciated having your
strong and soothing presence there
to guide us through the big day and
we received so many compliments
from our guests about how well the
ceremony reflected us. We also loved
how you brought the reading from
ee cummings and Rilke to life in the
room. We will remember and
treasure our wedding ceremony
forever! ~ Hyosub & Christine
Dear Rebecca ~ While we're still
basking in the afterglow of
Saturday's event, we want you to
know how truly grateful we are to
you for your gentle support,
encouragement, and for seeming to
know what we wanted without our
telling, for helping us see what we
did want, for candle 'detective'
work, but most of all for beautifully
weaving together a ritual we will
never forget. It really couldn't have
been any better. Thank you, thank
you. ~ Sue & Bob
Rev. Rebecca, ~ I just wanted to
thank you once again! Everyone
enjoyed the ceremony you put
together for us. Not only did you
have some great innovative ideas on
how to celebrate our traditions, but
your marvelous personality
provided a special mood to the
entire celebration. You have to
know that so many people asked
about you - asking how we found
you and commenting on how special
you made the ceremony. We
certainly will keep you in mind for
anyone who is looking for a truly
remarkable person to officiate at
their wedding! ~ Patty & Bob

Dear Rev. Rebeca ~ What can we
say? You were simply fantastic.
Really great. You made our special
day extra special by hitting all the
right notes. The Dylan Thomas love
letter couldn't have been more
perfect. It was our favorite part of
the entire day -- such a nice surprise
from you! Both of our families
thought the ceremony was the
highlight of the day. ~ Deb & Chris
Dear Rebecca ~ We just wanted to
write and thank you for the lovely
wedding service. You 'pulled the
stitches" of the readings and the
music together with your quilting
and weaving metaphors and poetry.
We were thrilled at how smoothly
things went and how lovely the
whole service was. Your benediction
was truly inspired! ~ Mary Beth &
Scott
Dear Rev. Rebecca, ~ We would just
like to thank you very much for the
wonderful ceremony that you
performed for us yesterday. It was
just perfect and exactly how we
hoped our wedding day would be.
We fly home to Ireland this evening
and will look back on yesterday
with fond thoughts. Best ~ Nuala &
Matthew
Dear Rebecca ~ Thank you so much
for being our special guide and
making our day even more perfect. It
was truly an honor to have your
there with us at such a profound
moment of our lives. Thank you,
also, for the unexpected gift of our
vows -- we framed them and have
them hanging in a special place. We
look forward to sharing a cup of tea
with you soon! All the best ~ Jeff &
Masayo
HAVE YOUR WEDDING, YOUR WAY! Thank you for your interest in personalized ceremonies! I am a minister in the liberal
religious tradition ~ dedicated to the free and conscious search for truth. Bring your
own beliefs and values with you and I will weave them into your ceremony. Over the
last 20 years I have created more than 700 weddings and look forward to making your
wedding perfect for you -- unique, personalized, elegant, memorable, fun!
My specialties are in interfaith, humanistic, ethnic, celtic and "green" weddings. Many of
the ceremonies I do are out in Nature and I love to accommodate the special needs for
that kind of ceremony. I also offer special wedding packages if you are eloping,
renewing vows, creating a public ceremony after being legally married, looking for a
co-officiant, marrying after divorce, wanting to include your children in the ceremony,
marrying in an unusual location, coming from abroad to be married in the U.S., and all
sorts of other special circumstances. Enjoy the site and give me a call!
MY WEDDING PHILOSOPHY
My deep and abiding interest in the role of STORY and RITUAL in
human life has made me keenly aware of how important it is to build upon
the specific words and images that inhabit the personal imagination. Simply
borrowing other people's ideas about what a wedding is or should be
does not give the grounding for a satisfying ceremony. I work with every
couple to create, from the depths of your own hearts and minds, the
perfect ceremony that expresses your core values and your highest
aspirations. Only with this kind of depth preparation will your ceremony
truly become the lasting fountain of inspiration that it is meant to be.
MY BACKGROUND
My gradute degrees from the University of Chicago Divinity School, the
Unitarian seminary and Chicago Theological Seminary have prepared me
to work with rigorous intellectual and spiritual honesty to do justice to this
profoundly important event in your life. I am especially interested in
INTERFAITH CEREMONIES which weave together important aspects
from both spouse's traditions. My passion for interfaith dialogue has led
me around the world, including a tremendous pilgrimage to India where I
had the privilege of meeting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. (see photo)
WEDDING AS RITUAL For many years I have explored the role of ritual, symbol and story in
human communities. My long association with mythologist Joseph
Campbell (The Power of Myth, Follow Your Bliss, The Hero with a
Thousand Faces, etc.) has alerted me to the need for RITUAL ELDERS
who understand how to help individuals move through the great stages of
life. While it may be possible for anyone to become a mail-order minister,
it takes training and experience to recognize the deep lineaments of
metaphor and the truths they hold for the soul. In brief, ritual is a container
to hold energy as it transitions from one state to another resulting in true
transformation. To create rituals that do this is my expertise. This is what
you are paying me for when you engage my services.
